SummerCamp Time!

Resim
IT IS SUMMER CAMP TIME! It is summer time and the weather is hot. Who wants to sit in a classroom practice English instead of relaxing and playing games? Camps are a dream for children, where fun and games never seem to end. With English summer school camp, learning the language and having fun is combined which seems like the perfect recipe! My own most favorite moments of school life were created on educational trips. Lucky for me, this year the school I am working in decided to arrange a summer camp that was located on a breathtaking Polish town Łeba on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Before planning the camp our aims were simple but important. As they were many teachers from different countries, we wanted to promote cultural exchange between the Polish culture and other cultures of the World. And to serve healthy and interesting food. To teach the English Language effectively and creatively. To provide exciting activities for students.and inspiring atmosp...

Teaching Different Cultures while Practicing the Language!

Teaching Different Cultures while Practicing Language! While I was studying Foreign Languages Education in the Faculty of Education, I always asked myself if I was doing the right thing as I was not a native speaker. But when I started to experience teaching in real classrooms I convinced myself that teaching English is not about being native or non-native. It depends on the person's creativity, effort, and most importantly experience. I can also say that sometimes being non-native has some advantages! This year in Poland, I've had lots of fun because many things were new for me and every day I was learning something new from locals. Also, I had many chances to talk about Turkey and Turkish culture and prepared lesson plans using authentic content as most of the students weren't familiar yet enthusiastic to learn. Since traveling was not an option for the classes, I decided to plan some of my lessons about my own culture including reading passages about traditional fo...

Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Poland

Resim
After years of studying in University, all those courses, conferences, preparing hundreds of lessons plans as homework, micro & macro teachings, mid-terms, finals, finally, I felt ready to teach.   I have been teaching English as a foreign language for two weeks. Two weeks but a lot of experience.   All the pupils are beginners, so we have started with basic things. We have played many games and we have been doing arts and crafts together. Doing arts&crafts is really helpful for real communication for the classroom. Children have learned the classroom language, the classroom objects, basic chunks and so on.

About Me - Teaching and Learning at the same time

As I have decided to write an EFL Blog, I guess the first thing to do is to tell you about who I am and why I started this blog. My name is Nilay, I am an English Teacher who is enthusiastic about learning and applying innovative methods and approaches to language teaching. Currently, I am working as an English Teacher in Poland, Wroclaw. Before studying ELT, I thought that teaching was not something I had ever considered as a profession. Luckily for me, I fell in love with teaching English and the journey I have been on since that time has been the most rewarding experience of my life. To have the opportunity to find something that has had such a profound effect on me while also having had the chance to experience new cultures and meet some great people has been wonderful. This blog is dedicated to create and share useful data about websites, tools, and programs which can make benefits in E-Learning, Tech-based Classroom System, generally Education Technologies and in whic...
